programming flex full board with ICD 3

Post by rizamil » Wed Nov 07, 2012 6:13 pm

Hi,

I've been programming my flex full base board with ICD 2 and MPLAB 8 without any problem.
Recently, we decided to move to MPLAB X and ICD 3 for their multi-platform feature.

I encountered a problem whenever i use ICD 3 to program the flex board.
The message was "Failed to get Device ID".
However, the same board can be programmed with ICD 2 with no problem.

Moreover, the ICD 3 show no problem when I verified it using the ICD 3 test board and it can successfully recognize and program another microchip dev kit that we have.

Does the flex support ICD 3?
Is there any solution for this problem?

Thank you in advance

We use ICD3 internally without problems. But we use it with MPLAB 8.x and Windows.

I do not know if MPLAB X has any issue. But I guess in general not, as we tested it in this wiki page:
