Solved: can\'t program the dsPIC on a FLEX full

Post by ofirbo » Sun Oct 26, 2008 11:40 am

Hi!

Recently i bought a FLEX board FULL, and while trying to program my first code (Blink the dsPIC LED) i\'ve encountered a major problem.

I have set all the jumpers according to the manual for programming the dsPIC in a FLEX-Full board.

I\'m using a MPLAB ICD2 programmer, and an external power supply to the FLEX board (12V DC).

The message i get in MPLAB when trying to program is :

Code: Select all

Programming Target...
ICDWarn0021: No Vdd voltage detected at Target. Continue with operation?
ICDWarn0052: MPLAB ICD 2 cannot validate a target device. Please make sure that the target device is connected and properly powered. Select \"OK\" to continue, or \"CANCEL\" to abort the operation
In the ICD2 settings you can see:

http://img160.imagevenue.com/img.php?im ... _879lo.JPG

Thanks in advance for your help...

Hi...

this is quite strange...

- are the leds on when you power on the Flex full? (there should be three green leds which should be on when the board is powered)
- could you make a photo where we can see the jumper settings you have done?

Ciao,

Paolo

Hi,

I spoke with various people, and this never happened to us before.

One hypothesis is that there is some short circuit on the board (maybe on the back side?) which was not spotted during production. (Could you please check it?) . Is it the only board you purchased?

If you are not able to make it working, you can return the board back to us for substitution. If you decide to do that, Please contact us directly out ofthe forum, so that we can arrange everything.

Ciao,

Paolo

All the jumpers are correct? You tryed to measure the 3.3V and the 5V lines to check is the micro is correctly powered?
