Should we make a wiki?

Post by paolo.gai » Thu Jun 12, 2008 8:11 am

Hi all,

I see that a growing number of posts are coming on the same topics (e.g. how to build a block, ...)

...should we make a wiki to maintain this growing information?

I agree with you,
it\'s a good idea.

PJ,

Yes!

I have used and contributed to some WIKIs and this is a very useful way to get new users the information required quickly. The new users become experts and the experts contribute to the WIKI.

The upside of a WIKI is that the user community helps create the documentation that they would like to have and transfer their experiences.

The downside to a WIKI is that as change occurs the WIKI could become out of date.

So a WIKI will help you generate the documentation, but you will still need to keep control of it somehow?

Dave.

Hi!

I always thought it was a good thing to have a wiki... but I wanted to have something on the forum before starting it...

but ok, I\'ll try it :-) ... and we\'ll try to get it in a way it will never remain outdated...

Done!

There is now an Evidence Wiki :-)

I just filled in the first article about creating a new Scicos block...

Enjoy!
