Installation issues

Post by nga » Wed Oct 19, 2011 7:26 am

Hello,
I am new to ERIKA Enterprise and RT-Druid. I am trying to install the ERIKA Enterprise and RT-Druid with the instruction provided in the following link.
http://erika.tuxfamily.org/wiki/index.p ... pplication

I have downloaded ERIKA Enterprise and RT-Druid 1.6.0 from the following link.
http://erika.tuxfamily.org/erika-for-mu ... vices.html

I also installed cygwin on my system ( windows XP) at c:\cygwin and installed MPLAB IDE and MPLAB C30 compiler in the default paths.
But my problem is I am not able to follow the below instruction in the Wiki page ( refering to the link at the beginning ).
"Run the ERIKA Enterprise and RT-Druid installer"
I don't know from where to run this "installer". I am sure I am missing something.

Can somebody give me hint how to complete the installation ?

Thanks
nga

Hello,

Old versions of Erika Enterprise and RT-Druid need an installer to set and check some windows keyword.
Current version of RT-Druid does not need these checks and, at this moment, does not provide an installer. It is just a zip file that you decompress somewhere and it will work. Our suggestion is to avoid a "path" that contains white spaces, like "c:\Program Files\Evidence\Erika Enterprise and RT-Druid": it may cause a failure in the build process.

You can find the zip file at the second link you provide (and probably you have already done it). Then we suggest to update RT-Druid Plugins as described at http://erika.tuxfamily.org/wiki/index.p ... d_RT-Druid

Regarding cygwin, there is a minimum subset of packages that are required to run the build process. If you see an error like 'command not found: make' during the build process, probably you miss some packages. Erika and RT-Druid download page contains also a link to an installer of this minimal subset.

Let me know if it works or if there is still some problems.

Best regards,
Nicola

ps. Thanks for the report: I'm going to update the wiki.

Hi Nicola,

Thanks for your suggestion.
I could complete the installation and start working with tutorials. :)
